Portapack Unplugged! - The Official Thread
So what is this program? The WADder.net Portapack was a great tool a long time ago for making the applications from WADder.net more stable and portable. But unfortunately, it got very unstable over time. The project was abandoned, leaving users with no user-friendly portable GUI launcher for their apps.
Now that WADder.net has shut down, I have decided to rebuild Portapack from the ground up so that there will still be an easy way to have all of the WADder apps. I've added a new GUI, new music, better code, different apps, and a brand new packaging method. The new Portapack, dubbed "Portapack Unplugged!" is more stable than ever.
Portapack Unplugged! is an all-in-one application launcher for all of the most popular Wii customization tools. With frequent updates, and easy-to-use GUI, relatively small size, and portability (the ability to run from any folder on any computer without installation), it's the only Wii customization and hacking program you'll ever need!
What's the difference between this and the old Portapack? Let's try to not even mention the old Portapack and Portapack Unplugged! in the same sentence. They are totally different programs.
Old Portapack didn't support 64-bit computers and used a packaging that made it extremely slow. This packaging also made the file size rather large.
Portapack Unplugged! has a new packaging method (alongside brand new coding) which will allow it to 100% support 64-bit systems with a relatively low file size.
System Requirements There are only two system requirements for Portapack Unplugged! - A Windows operating system of XP (32 bit), Vista (32 or 64 bit), or 7 (32 or 64 bit) and the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 or above. Under no circumstances should this program be run under Wine or similar. It is specifically made to run on Windows and will behave badly on any other operating system.
Known Bugs
Any bug that is present in a packaged app will also be pressent in the Portapack Unplugged! version of the app.
ModMii (formerly NUS Auto Downloader) is set to save to "C:\CONTENTS_TO_SD" when first running the program on Windows XP. This bug does not affect Windows Vista or Windows 7. This is simply a limitation of Windows's XP's batch commands. The save location can easily be changed within the program, and once this setting is changed, this "bug" disappears

It's a tad slow to start up, can you add a splash or progrss bar so you know it's on it's way please?
I planned on that in the first place, but I figured that since original Portapack took a while to load too, why bother? But I see your point. I'll add it

Also, it doesn't remember my setting to not play music on start up.
That's my bad. I didn't compile the latest code of settings. Will fix.

Cool, glad to see Portapack is still going! (Theming coming soon?)
Sorry, but no. The point of this package is simplicity and small file size. This new packaging takes longer to load if the file size gets very large. Knocking off themes helps to reduce size. Same goes for converting sound to MP3, which I did here. Old Portapack was WAV.

Re: Portapack Unplugged! [Coming Soon]
I changed the topics title.
So, what about dependencies? .NET required? It's really small, but also, your server is really slow FF says it needs 23min for 23MB
Idea: How about a new icon? I'm sure we have some skilled artists
